318 French Country Extension Cabriole Farmhouse Table with Leaves in Antique Finish

One of our earliest "antique" pieces, a french country farmhouse table with cabriole legs.  Shown here at Europa Antiques in Portland, Oregon.  Europa is at 1523 NW 24th Ave, 97210.  Phone 503-232-5311.

The finish color was developed in collaboration with Lynnsly Kollar of Europa Antiques.  Europa imports beautiful antiques from France, and the color on this table was specifically developed to match a beautiful antique walnut wardrobe with a gentle complex, medium walnut finish.

Here it is shown mingling with other French Provincial antiques on the shop floor.

Here is a different table, having the same basic shape of table and legs, but on this one, the table can be extended and has two leaves.  At each end is a board called a breadboard.

The breadboard pulls out on sturdy leaf arms to accept one or more leaves.

Some people choose to have three smaller leaves for versatility.  This person chose a single 24 inch leaf for each end.
Shows color and texture of top.  This piece, like many others wears a "living finish".  At the  basis of our living finishes are penetrating drying oils.  These give the table a delicate buttery sheen that mimics the look of a fine antique, yet are absolutely bombproof, tolerating wine, boiling tea, gravy, ketchup and all other kitchen substances without showing stains.  Any incidental damage expected from daily use either blends in with the pre existing distressing, or is easily and inexpensively repaired in the home.
